The short version
Wordvale has no account or sign-up, and your game progress and settings are stored only on your device. The app does show ads and offers optional in-app purchases, so it relies on Google's advertising and billing services, which collect some data (like an advertising identifier and IP address) to serve and measure ads and to process payments. We don't sell your personal information. This policy explains what's collected, by whom, and your choices.
Information we collect
Information you provide: none. Wordvale has no account, login, or sign-up — we never ask for your name, email, or any personal details to play.
Stored only on your device (never sent to us):
- Game progress, coins, levels, stars, daily streak, and achievements.
- Your app settings and preferences.
This lives in the app's local storage and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Collected automatically by third-party SDKs (see Third-party services):
- A device advertising identifier, IP address, device/OS type, and ad-interaction data — used to show and measure ads.
How we use information
- To run the game and save your progress locally on your device.
- To display and measure advertising (rewarded videos and between-level ads).
- To process in-app purchases (coin packs, Remove Ads).
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
Wordvale relies on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads — serves ads; may collect your advertising ID, IP address, and ad-interaction data. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information.
- Google Play Services / Google Play Billing — required platform services and payment processing for purchases. Google handles all payment and card data; we never see it.
- Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) — when you tap a found word to see its definition, only that word (no personal data) is sent to look up the definition.
Advertising & consent
Ads shown in Wordvale may be personalized or non-personalized. In the EEA and UK, we request your consent through Google's UMP consent form before serving personalized ads.
You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking).
In-app purchases
Wordvale offers optional purchases (coin packs and Remove Ads). Payments are handled entirely by the platform's billing system. We receive only confirmation that a purchase completed — never your payment or card details.
Children's privacy
Wordvale is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We configure ads with a family-friendly maximum content rating and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we'll address it.
Data retention
On-device data persists until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Data processed by Google and AdMob is retained according to their respective policies.
Your rights & choices
- GDPR (EEA/UK): you may access, correct, or delete your data and withdraw ad consent. Our legal bases are consent (for personalized ads) and legitimate interest (for core game functionality).
- CCPA (California): you have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.
- Exercising your rights: most data is on your device and cleared by uninstalling; for anything else, email us using the details below.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Sensitive data, such as payments, is handled by trusted platform providers rather than by us.
International transfers
Third parties such as Google may process data on servers outside your country, under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and significant changes will be noted in the app or its store listing.
